Make-A-Wish Hawaii is a nonprofit organization that grants wishes to eligible children facing critical illnesses in Hawaii, with the goal of transforming their lives through the experience of a wish. The program operates statewide through volunteers and trained wish granters and is supported entirely by private donations, with all funds staying in Hawaii to support local wish-granting efforts. Headquartered in Honolulu, the Hawaii chapter is among the busiest in the country, granting more than 1,100 wishes each year. The organization was founded in 1982 to host visiting wish families, granting its first local wish in 1984, and by 2017 had helped more than 15,000 children and their families through wish experiences. It conducts its work across the islands via a statewide network, connecting eligible children with opportunities to have wishes fulfilled. In December 2025, Waikīkī Beach Walk partnered with Make-A-Wish Hawaii to deliver toys to wish children and their siblings, reflecting ongoing community engagement.
