Founded in Monza, Italy in 1923, Manifattura Mario Colombo owns the COLMAR brand and has long served as the Italian distributor for Lacoste, a role it has held since the late 1960s. Initially producing gaiters and hats for men, the company shifted to work overalls before specializing in highly durable padded garments and ski wear. That evolution positioned COLMAR as a reference in technical clothing for skiing, golf, and sporty urban outerwear. Headquartered in Monza, Lombardy, the business remains under the Colombo family, with a workforce described as several hundred. In addition to its own brand, the company distributes Lacoste clothing, leatherwear and shoes in Italy and operates part of Lacoste's boutique network in the country. In 2023 Colmar marked its centennial with a 10 piece capsule collection designed by Joshua Vides.
