Manteco is a textile manufacturer founded in 1941 by Enzo Anacleto Mantellassi, initially a spinning mill producing recycled wool yarns from old military clothing and blankets. By 1943 it had expanded into woven textiles, maintaining a steady focus on circularity and sustainability. Based in Montemurlo, Tuscany, the company operates 100% in Tuscany through MSystem, a zero-mile, fully traced, certified supply chain linking more than 56 partner textile firms. Manteco emphasizes circular fashion through a zero-waste wool-recovery system and a Sustainable Design approach aimed at creating durable, recyclable wool textiles. It markets its own sustainable wool brands MWool and ReviWool, and in 2026 expanded its footprint with new offices and a showroom in A Coruña, Spain.
