Margolis Weldon was founded in February 2015 with the promise of redefining the legal experience by helping people protect what they value most. While working together at Heartland Law Firm, Matt and Lauren realized how cohesive their working relationship was and the similarity in their styles of estate planning and client advocacy. Matt and Lauren have an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to be valued contributors to the fields of elder law and estate planning, while supporting clients and their families through some of life's most difficult transitions. More importantly, they understand how challenging it can be for people to talk about death and dying, and they are committed to making the planning process as comfortable as possible. Matt and Lauren's goal is to have their clients truly enjoy working with the firm while accomplishing their goals.

Margolis Weldon assists its clients with their Estate Planning and Elder Law needs, including Special Needs, Trust Administration, Decedent's Estates and Guardianship. The firm counsels clients from birth to death and ensures that their Estate Planning documents reflect the different stages of their lives. Margolis Weldon safeguards clients' legacies by confirming that Estate Planning documents are appropriately incorporated into their planning goals.

Margolis Weldon reminds clients that it is never too early to have a long term care plan in place. As part of its work with clients in transition, the firm assists with obtaining Illinois Medicaid benefits and the VA Aid and Attendance Pension. Margolis Weldon supports clients in navigating the Probate process and assists with Trust Administration after a loved one passes away.
