The Marine Resources Council is a charitable nonprofit based in Palm Bay, Florida, established in 1983 to protect and restore the Indian River Lagoon. It runs LagoonWatch, a long-running citizen science program that tracks water quality in the lagoon, and operates one of Florida's largest state-licensed mangrove nurseries.

The organization serves the local community and educational partners by providing science-based programs and activities aimed at lagoon health. In 2026 it formed collaborations with DiscoverElc and the Indian River Neighborhood Association to offer a free, one-day event for students in grades 7-12 focused on the lagoon’s future, alongside the Environmental Learning Center. Within the environmental services field, MRC positions itself as a nonprofit that combines community engagement, monitoring, and habitat restoration to support the lagoon ecosystem.
