Marion Area Counseling Center, Inc. (MACC) is a mental health care organization based in Marion, Ohio, formed through the consolidation of local mental health and social service groups and incorporated in 1974. The center moved to its current address in Marion in 1975, and its scope expanded in 1979 with the merger of Marion Alcohol and Drug Service. Since then, MACC has broadened its services beyond traditional counseling to include housing and residential supports intended to promote independent living and stability. The organization operates MACC West, a residential facility focused on teaching independent living skills. It also provides permanent supportive housing through Viceroy and Monarch Place for individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Additional recovery housing—Dave's and Jody's Houses—supports people in recovery from drug or alcohol addiction, and the Victim Assistance Program, grant funded, helps crime victims in Marion County.
