When six Marshfield physicians pooled their medical expertise in 1916 to form Marshfield Clinic, they built the foundation for what has grown to become one of the largest private, multispecialty group practices in the United States. With 775 physicians in 80 medical specialties and subspecialties located in over 50 locations throughout northern, central and western Wisconsin, Marshfield Clinic is on the move. Although Marshfield Clinic has become synonymous with the city of Marshfield , the Clinic's "community"​ goes well beyond the immediate area, embracing nearly all of Wisconsin and much of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
