The Maryland Association for Justice (MAJ) is a non-profit organization focused on improving the civil justice system through legislative advocacy and the professional and ethical development of attorneys who represent injured clients. Based in Columbia, Maryland, MAJ traces its origins to 1954 when a group of trial attorneys formed what began as the Maryland Plaintiff’s Bar Association; it evolved into the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association and later adopted its current name in 2008. The association serves legal professionals engaged in representing injury victims, offering a platform for discussion of trial tactics, settlement strategies, and legislative activity in Annapolis, with an emphasis on ethical practice and professional development. MAJ operates within the non-profit legal services sector, connecting members and supporting their efforts to advocate in the civil justice arena. A recent development noted publically is the appointment of a new president in 2023, reflecting ongoing leadership activity within the organization.
