Maryland International School (MDIS) is a private school in Elkridge, MD in Howard County. At MDIS our vision is to promote critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation; and to develop the intellect, emotional and social skills that students need to live and work in a globalized world. Our STEM Academy offers a specialized STEM-based curriculum filled with STEM learning experiences. These learning experiences include utilization of STEM career field experiences at surrounding area businesses and through outreach programs.  Research opportunities and hands-on field trips are also embedded throughout the school year to prepare students for college and their future career endeavors. MDIS uses a transdisciplinary approach to embed the STEM Standards of Practice into daily instruction to promote problem-solving skills.
