Mass Humanities is a private nonprofit foundation that serves as the statewide affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities in Massachusetts. It provides grant-making support to small nonprofits, partners with educational institutions, and runs community engagement programs to broaden access to the humanities and promote inclusive civic participation that incorporates perspectives historically left out. Based in Holyoke, the organization operates across the state and focuses on initiatives that advance equitable involvement in culture, education, and public life.

In the philanthropic fundraising services arena, Mass Humanities coordinates resources to humanities-focused initiatives throughout Massachusetts through grants and collaborative programming with community and educational partners. A notable recent development is the 2023 launch of an audio storytelling initiative created with New England Public Media and PRX to elevate diverse community voices.
