The Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions (MACC) is a statewide nonprofit organization based in Belmont, Massachusetts. Founded in 1961 and incorporated in 1978, it operates within the environmental services sector with a mission to safeguard Massachusetts' natural resources by supporting Conservation Commissions through education and advocacy. Each year it provides environmental education, training, and practical assistance to a broad audience of more than two thousand individuals across the state, including conservation commissioners, municipal and state staff and officials, consultants, engineers, lawyers, and other professionals. MACC also engages in advocacy work, participating in government advisory committees, offering input on proposed laws and regulations, and filing amicus briefs in important cases related to wetlands, open space, and environmental protection. A recent development noted is the organization scheduling its Annual Business Meeting for March 1, 2025, to precede the Annual Environmental Conference in Worcester, Massachusetts.
