Massachusetts Biotechnology Council is a not-for-profit trade association that serves the Massachusetts life sciences sector. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, it is the oldest organization of its kind in the United States, having been founded in 1985. The council represents more than one thousand biotechnology companies, academic institutions, research hospitals, and service organizations, and it provides policy engagement, educational initiatives, and a range of member programs and services to support the industry. In 2026, MassBio has expanded its collaborative activities, including planning an event on May 11, 2026, R&D Reimagined - Advanced Modalities, in partnership with Genezen's viral vector CDMO team and Merck KGaA's Next Gen Drug Delivery (NGDD) group to connect biotech and pharma leadership with technology innovators. Earlier that year, AeroSafe Global joined MassBio to advance pharmaceutical distribution.
