The MassHire North Shore Workforce Board operates as the regional authority overseeing federally funded employment and training programs in the North Shore of Massachusetts. Based in Salem, the board includes business and community leaders appointed by the mayor to represent nineteen communities. It also administers the North Shore Career Center, the area’s primary career services hub, with additional offices spread across the region.

The board is comprised of more than forty leaders from business, industry, labor, education, and training who hold statutory authority to fund and advance workforce initiatives for the region. Its scope includes analyzing labor market needs and building partnerships among economic development actors, K–12 and higher education, government agencies, chambers of commerce, and community organizations. Notable recent developments include participation in statewide MassHire awards and the launch of workforce training programs such as the Advanced Manufacturing Training and Expansion Program.
