McKinney ISD is a primary and secondary education district based in McKinney, Texas, serving the city and surrounding communities including New Hope, Allen, Fairview, Princeton, and Lowry Crossing. The district operates 20 elementary schools, five middle schools, three high schools, two alternative campuses, and one early childhood education center, supported by 68 facilities totaling more than 4 million square feet on 603 acres. It serves more than 24,500 students and is one of the fastest growing school districts in Texas. McKinney ISD was founded in 1848 to educate the children of local farmers and small business owners, reflecting a long history in the community.
