Founded in 1907 by Michael Bannigan and Patrick McQuade, McQuade and Bannigan, Inc. began as a coal and mason supply business in Utica, New York. As the coal business gradually became obsolete, the contractor’s equipment business became the main focus of the company. Today, the company specializes in the sales, rental and service of equipment, tools and supplies to construction, industrial and government markets. In addition to product expansion, the company has expanded from its one location in Utica to additional locations in Watertown, New York and Syracuse, New York, and is now run by third and fourth generation family members.

McQuade and Bannigan’s full product line consists of power and hand tools, construction equipment, safety products, material handling equipment, MRO supplies, cutting tools, fasteners, construction products and chemicals and, recently added, complete custom signage and apparel services. As a small business competing against better known, national companies offering the same product lines, McQuade and Bannigan strives to set itself apart by making customer service its highest priority. Each branch has a showroom staffed by knowledgeable inside and outside sales personnel, a well-stocked warehouse and a fleet of trucks to deliver products to its customers when they need it, where they need it.
