The Meadowbrook School is a co-ed independent school that focuses on exemplary education for students in preschool through sixth grade. We stand by the principle that during a child's formative years, he or she gains distinct, academic advantages when engaged learning takes place. With an average of 12 students per class, Meadowbrook is well below the norms of Pennsylvania's public elementary schools, which average 23 per class. At Meadowbrook, your child is recognized as a true individual within our close-knit community. Faculty and staff, along with students and families, join together to provide a warm and inviting environment for your child to grow and thrive-intellectually, emotionally and socially. Here’s how Meadowbrook helps your child develop a true love for learning: We educate the whole child - just as you would at home. This means developing a social conscience in addition to excelling in academics, art, music and sports. We do not spend time “teaching-to-a-test” - we focus on learning. Meadowbrook students, beginning in Preschool, study two languages (French and Spanish), art, music, technology and science. What makes Meadowbrook so special? A school climate that is personal, safe and nurturing – just like a family. A strong sense of service and community engagement; parents are actively involved in many aspects of school. Communication between home and school is frequent and easy. Small class size promotes caring and enables personalized learning. Our older students lead Assembly, serve as waiters in the dining hall and mentor the younger students - fostering a sense of responsibility and building their own leadership skills. Social interactions between children of all age groups develop important social skills and build self-confidence.
