MediWales is a not-for-profit, independent network that serves as Wales’s life science community, connecting medical technology, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical interests with NHS boards, universities, and professional services to foster partnerships and business opportunities. Based at The Maltings in Cardiff, Wales, the organization supports a broad membership and facilitates collaboration through a program of events that cover regulatory updates, market access, finance and funding, clinical unmet needs, and international trade. It operates Special Interest Groups in Medical Technology & Diagnostics, BioPharma, and Natural Compounds, and has developed the LifeScience Academy to address workforce needs in the sector. MediWales also publishes LifeStories magazine and UK LifeScience Industry magazine, providing industry insights to its network. In 2025, the organization launched a public and patient involvement initiative to support the development of a liquid biopsy for early detection of ovarian and endometrial cancers, reflecting its role in connecting researchers, clinicians, patients, and policy.
