Mercy Kids Africa is a non-profit organization whose mission is to transform the lives of orphans and vulnerable children in Zambia. Our focus is to provide for the children’s basic needs, educational opportunities, and coordinate projects that strengthen their families and community. Vision To implement programs in Africa, focusing on one organization at a time, with the goal of shifting away from reliance on donations and towards a path of self-sustainability. Long term success can only be achieved through self-sustaining solutions How we do this We are paving the way toward a better tomorrow for underprivileged children in Africa, starting with one orphanage in Chingola, Zambia. Lusungu Children’s Home (LCH) houses and/or cares for children whose lives have been impacted by HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, or malaria. As with many children’s homes in Africa, their needs far outweigh their resources. With your help, we connect them with the resources critical to providing for the physical, emotional, and educational needs of the children. We coordinate and fund projects that encourage LCH to become a completely self-sustaining organization and also create work opportunities for the children as they become adults. We work closely with LCH to coordinate projects that meet their current needs and fit within our core objectives: Care, Teach, Build, and Develop. Our ultimate goal is to help LCH cultivate a solid business structure and self-sustaining practices that can be successfully implemented at similar organizations in Africa.
