Met Council operates in the field of individual and family services, delivering a range of programs to assist poor and near-poor residents of New York. For more than four decades, it has supported families, seniors, and adults living in poverty by providing immediate crisis relief and avenues toward self-sufficiency. Its offerings include a large kosher food pantry network, emergency social services, services addressing family violence, home repair programs, benefits enrollment and outreach, and affordable housing initiatives. A grassroots Jewish Community Council network delivers support directly in neighborhoods where people live. Based in New York, United States, Met Council employs several hundred people across its programs. In late 2025 it entered a design-through-construction partnership with Zubatkin Owner Representation LLC to oversee a project from design through closeout.
