Acquisition Impact Metcalf Archaeology was acquired by Terracon Consultants in September 2024, signaling a potential shift in client base, access to larger project scopes, and expanded service cross-sell opportunities within Terracon's existing portfolio.

Scale Opportunity Despite a small standalone team, the acquisition could enable rapid expansion in cultural resource management offerings across Terracon’s vast geographic footprint, creating potential for joint bids on larger infrastructure and development projects.

Expert Positioning With 30+ years in cultural resource management, Metcalf brings established domain expertise that can complement Terracon’s engineering and environmental services, creating a marketable combined value proposition.

Tech Enablement Current tech stack includes ArcGIS and collaboration tools like Office 365 and WP Engine; opportunities exist to integrate with Terracon’s tech ecosystems to streamline project delivery and data management.

Leadership and Talent Notable hiring activity, such as appointing a project director, indicates ongoing capability development; potential for targeted outreach to augment project leadership roles on larger engagements.
