MetroSquash is a nonprofit organization based in Chicago, Illinois, that serves Chicagoland youth by combining academic support, competitive squash, and enrichment to help students realize their potential. The program follows a long-term Pathway from fifth grade to postsecondary completion, built on four pillars: squash and fitness, academics and enrichment, social work and supportive services, and college and careers. Students typically commit about 10 hours each week, evenly split between academics and squash, and the organization operates seven days a week during the school year with a robust summer camp. It began with a class of 10 fifth-grade students meeting in space rented from the University of Chicago, and expanded in 2015 with the MetroSquash Academic and Squash Center, followed by a north-side satellite in Evanston in 2018 to serve underrepresented students. The program serves over 400 students and families annually and, to date, reports a 100% high school graduation rate, 100% college acceptance rate, 98% college enrollment, 100% post-secondary matriculation, and 88% of students on track to graduate college.
