Michael Rosenfeld Gallery is an art dealership based in New York, focusing on twentieth- and twenty-first-century American art. The gallery supports a broad roster of modern and contemporary artists across movements such as abstract expressionism, surrealism, social realism, figurative expressionism, and geometric abstraction, organizing exhibitions and participating in major international art fairs to reach a diverse audience of collectors and institutions. Since its founding in 1989 by Michael Rosenfeld, with partner Halley K. Harrisburg joining in 1992, the gallery has established itself as a venue for historically significant work and contemporary investigations, presenting landmark shows that highlight African American art, women artists, and other underrepresented practices. The Chelsea location, opened in 2012, occupies a 6,500-square-foot space designed to accommodate substantial exhibitions and align with a professional market presence. The gallery is a member of the Art Dealers Association of America and has contributed to shaping collections across private and public institutions in the U.S. and internationally. A notable recent development includes the publication of exhibition-focused books such as Charmion von Wiegand: Expanding Modernism and Claire Falkenstein: Matter in Motion, reflecting its ongoing curatorial and scholarly activities.
