Michigan Clean Cities is a small coalition that works to achieve cleaner air and energy security in Michigan by promoting the use of alternative fuels, cleaner vehicles, and fuel-efficient practices. Its activities involve a wide range of stakeholders—fleets, corporations, nonprofits, utilities, local governments, and individuals—who are interested in cleaner fuels and practices to improve air quality. In 2024, the organization served as a Community Partner at the RoadmapForth Conference on transportation electrification and launched the first EV car sharing location in Detroit as part of its Affordable Mobility Platform initiatives. The group is based in Detroit, Michigan, and operates within the broader renewable energy and transportation electrification arena, often collaborating with other organizations in the Clean Cities network. It has engaged in partnerships and events such as a 2023 Clean Ports Workshop with Warner Petroleum and others, and a 2021 collaboration with Clean Fuels Ohio to share best practices.
