Microbiome Labs is a mid-sized wellness company based in Glenview, Illinois, focused on microbiome-based health solutions. The business grew out of a collaboration between Dr. Tom Bayne and microbiologist Kiran Krishnan, who developed MegaSporeBiotic as its first all-spore probiotic after clinical validation. From the start, the founders reinvested a substantial portion of profits into research rather than marketing, a practice that has continued to shape its development. It markets its products to practitioners, offering evidence-based probiotic and gut-health solutions and supporting clinical use through ongoing research and trials. By 2018 Microbiome Labs had attended more than 148 conferences, initiated or completed 14 clinical trials, and provided solutions to thousands of practitioners. In 2026, it relaunched its BiomeFX Functional Microbiome Analysis in partnership with Jona, the AI-powered gut microbiome company, signaling ongoing product development and external collaborations.
