Midlands STEM Charter School is a public charter school with a focus on STEM education, serving students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in Winnsboro, South Carolina. Founded in 2014 to address the needs of an underrepresented student population in Fairfield County, the school has evolved from a 5K-5th grade institution to a full 3K-12 program, with a history of operating at multiple locations before returning to Rockton and planning a long-term home in Winnsboro. The school serves the local community by providing an education aimed at preparing scholars for STEM-related careers, reflecting its positioning within the primary and secondary education sector. It operates with a relatively small to mid-size administrative and instructional staff and maintains a local presence, including managing athletics and other school programs alongside its academic mission. A recent development indicates the appointment of Hallett as athletic director and baseball coach, signaling ongoing expansion of its extracurricular leadership in 2026.
