Established on March 7th, 1938, Midwest Furniture Sales, Inc. was founded by Morris Parrish, Lance Graham, and Ben Novikoff in Salt Lake City. Starting small in a modest space, they initially focused on distributing a few rolls of carpet. Later, on April 17th, 1952, the company transformed into Midwest Floor Coverings, Inc., expanding to offer premier brands like Gulistan Carpet, Mohawk, and General Felt Products to meet increasing demand in the area. In 1957, Morris Parrish took sole ownership and made strategic moves, including investing in land at Wagner Park in 1965. This allowed for the establishment of a large warehouse and office complex, showcasing Morris's foresight and commitment to excellence. John Parrish took over in 1969, leading with innovation and expansion. His presidency, starting in 1980, emphasized diversification and strategic partnerships with industry leaders like Wilsonart International and Mannington Mills. In 2003, Eric Parrish became president, guiding Midwest into cabinet manufacturing and introducing new product lines. Today, Midwest remains headquartered in Salt Lake City, with over 86 years of experience, a workforce of over 130 employees, and locations across five states, serving customers across Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Nevada. This enduring commitment to excellence and innovation has solidified Midwest's position as a leader in the industry.
