The Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology functions as a vocational-technical education program administered by the Mifflin County School District, based in Houston, Pennsylvania. It serves students in grades 10 through 12 from three sending high schools: Mifflin County High School, East Juniata High School, and Juniata High School, as well as adults and students from non-public schools in Mifflin and Juniata Counties. Programs approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education provide academic credit from the sending high schools for completed coursework, and upon program completion students receive a completion certificate and may qualify for articulated college credits at Pennsylvania post-secondary institutions. Enrollment averages about 350 students annually, and participants split their day between their high schools and The Academy, spending roughly two hours at The Academy. The academy's mission is to prepare students for success in tomorrow's careers, with a vision that all students excel in a technical career pathway with the confidence to face challenges. It upholds non-discrimination in its programs and offers equal access to designated youth groups; inquiries may be directed to Administrative Director Mr. Daniel Potutschnig at 700 Pitt Street, Lewistown, PA 17044, or via email at dtp10@mcsdk12.org. In November 2023, the institution launched a redesigned website at www.theacademy.net.
