Marble has long been a material that exemplifies class, respect, and luxury. However, given its immense weight and the complex, fragile process of cutting the material, marble has primarily been a premium material used exclusively in the furniture and construction industries.

We here at MIKOL have refined an efficient method to utilize marble and finally be able to accessorize our most practical essentials in daily life. With this technology, we have decided to begin our journey into the accessory and fashion world.

As natural stone connoisseurs in the construction industry, we realized early on that consumers were getting the short end of the stick: not only were they paying exorbitant prices for inferior products, but they were also unknowingly feeding into the unsustainable cycle of environmental waste. In an effort to right this injustice and provide higher quality, eco-friendly products, we consolidated our creative energies behind developing our thin-stone technology. By cutting our natural stones to just 1 mm in thickness, we essentially reduce the amount of material used for the same job by up to 80%. Besides reducing waste by utilizing so much less material, we also significantly reduce emissions since we can now carry more products per transport and cut our average installation time. The result is what we were initially inspired to aspire to a superior product that is both reasonably affordable and environmentally friendly.

Unfortunately, there were too many barriers to overcome with "middlemen" in a business to business situation. That is why we created MIKOL, a brand of lifestyle products that can be used daily showing the ability of natural stones. It was our way to raise awareness of a method to help out the environment without sacrificing quality.
