Minnesota Street Project is a San Francisco based initiative that provides affordable, economically sustainable spaces for art galleries, artists, and related nonprofits. Located in the Dogpatch neighborhood and occupying more than 100,000 square feet, the project supports the local contemporary art community with an eye toward developing an internationally recognized arts destination in the long term. It was founded by Deborah and Andy Rappaport as a self-sustaining model intended to share its economic success with arts businesses and professionals, aligning philanthropic aims with the region's innovative ecosystem. The project was slated to open in March 2016. In September 2017, Liquitex announced a partnership to offer four Bay Area artists residencies at 1240 Minnesota Street, illustrating collaborations within the Minnesota Street Project ecosystem.
