The Missouri Bankers Association, based in Jefferson City, serves as the principal advocate for Missouri's banking industry. Its membership includes commercial banks and savings and loan associations operating in Missouri, collectively representing more than 2,000 banking locations and over 30,000 bank employees. In addition to lobbying at state and federal levels, MBA provides products and services intended to benefit its members. Membership is open to institutions that accept demand deposits and make commercial loans in Missouri and are supervised by the Missouri Division of Finance or the Comptroller of the Currency, as well as savings and loan, federal savings bank, or trust companies located in Missouri. In 2022, Jackson Hataway was named president of the association, with the appointment taking effect on June 1.
