Missouri Health Care for All is the only permanent, statewide organization in Missouri combining grassroots organizing with strategic policy and lobbying work on health care access issues. We were founded on the basic principle that all Missourians deserve access to quality, affordable health care regardless of where they live or how much money they make. Our movement is made up of over 13,000 individual members across the state, more than 200 engaged organizations, and staff in St. Louis, Springfield, Joplin, Jefferson City and Dexter, Missouri. Missouri Health Care for all is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots movement founded by faith and community leaders. We work statewide to give Missourians meaningful ways to impact the health policy issues that affect them. Our members are active in urban and rural communities across the state. We are a leader in collecting and sharing personal health care stories. The stories of working parents forced to choose between groceries and medicine. Neighbors who put off seeing a doctor because they are uninsured. Families saddled with debt from a medical emergency. Doctors who can’t treat their cancer patient as they see best because the insurance company denied payment. Young adults picked up by law enforcement because they couldn’t get treatment for their mental illness. Local hospitals cutting jobs and closing doors. These are stories of suffering from every corner of our state. Missouri Health Care for All is bringing us together. We are breaking down the barriers that divide us. We are educating ourselves about the challenges and the possible solutions. This work requires trust, patience and a belief that together we can create a healthier, more productive Missouri. Please join us.
