MIT Connection Science is a research-focused initiative that analyzes technology-mediated human networks to guide design and evaluation. It aims to unlock the potential of digital networks spanning social media, civic infrastructure, and enterprise data stores, examining how these networks shape choices, beliefs and actions. The work acknowledges the rapid evolution of networks and the unintended consequences that can emerge across finance, mobility, politics, healthcare and beyond. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the organization operates as a small, cross-disciplinary unit within MIT, drawing on scholars from across the Institute. Its intent is to equip executives, entrepreneurs and policymakers with deeper, evidence-based insights to navigate an increasingly interconnected world.
