Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation operates as an independent, Aboriginal community-controlled health service based in Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory, and was founded in 1992. It provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care and public health programs to more than 8,500 remote Yolŋu and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across East Arnhem in three wards. The organization maintains seven fixed clinic locations and dedicated outreach teams, offers a renal dialysis service in Angurugu, and coordinates eye health efforts in the Mamarika Ward. Clinics are staffed by general practitioners, remote area nurses, Aboriginal health practitioners and Aboriginal community workers, with around half of the workforce identifying as Yolŋu. Services include walk-in care for acute and preventive needs, health education, and primary prevention programs addressing risk factors for First Nations peoples in the region. Its head office is in Nhulunbuy, with a corporate office in Darwin, and in April 2026 it appointed Dr Richard Zanner as chief executive officer.
