This includes users engaged in advertising & marketing, architecture, design, film, music, performing & visual arts, publishing, R&D, software, and games. The Problem Today, creative workflows demand above average time away from the desk. Solutions must simultaneously power mission-critical, professional creative, as well as, standard office software. This necessitates full-featured, pro desktop apps and workstation-level performance, deployed across a mobile environment. However, Apple splits its mobile offerings into macOS-based notebooks vs. iOS-based iPhone/iPad tablets. Clearly separated through their distinct interface paradigms (mouse/trackpad on macOS and touch on iOS), Apple has carefully crafted their feature sets and positioning so as to complement and integrate with each other, and not overlap. Tablet form factor with pen-input are designed into the iOS devices, whereas laptop usability, workstation-class performance and expandability are reserved for Mac notebooks.
