The Model Forest Policy Program is a small nonprofit based in Sagle, Idaho. Since 2010, it has partnered with dozens of communities to reduce climate risks and support adaptation to a changing climate. The organization places particular emphasis on Indigenous and rural communities, which often face heightened vulnerability to climate impacts. Through community co-design and capacity-building efforts, MFPP aims to improve the health and vitality of communities and their surrounding ecosystems while pursuing resilient and equitable outcomes.

A core focus is addressing barriers faced by Tribal and rural communities in confronting climate change, with the goal of reducing vulnerability and achieving lasting resilience. In August 2019 MFPP partnered with the Cumberland River Compact to amplify national outreach for adaptive stormwater management, including the use of regenerative stormwater conveyances.
