The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth collects, presents, and interprets art from the 1940s to the present, with an international scope and a history of close engagement with living artists. Located in Fort Worth's Cultural District, the museum has occupied a purpose-built complex since 2002, designed by Tadao Ando, with expansive gallery space and facilities including a reflecting pond, theater, education center, shop, and café. 

Founded in 1892, it is the oldest museum in Texas and holds works by artists from Picasso and Guston to contemporary figures. The institution serves as a center for lifelong learning through tours, lectures, classes, camps, workshops, and film programs, and it collaborates with local arts organizations to offer music, dance, and theater. In early 2025, Halona Norton-Westbrook was announced as the museum's next director, set to begin July 1, 2025.
