MONNAIE DE PARIS is a public establishment based in Paris that handles the production of euro coins for the state and, through international tenders, also mints coins for foreign countries at its plant in Pessac, Gironde. Founded in 864, it is widely regarded as the oldest French institution and among the oldest companies in the world. Since 2007, it operates as an EPIC under the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Its Quai de Conti workshop in Paris produces art objects such as coins, medals, jewelry, decorations, and metal casts, and it is part of the Comité Colbert, which groups French luxury houses. The organization also runs the Musée du 11 Conti, opened in 2018, to showcase its patrimonial collections and illustrate the craft of money making. In 2026, it launched a bullion gold Marianne coin, reflecting ongoing coinage projects and external collaborations with cultural partners.
