Monster Cable Products operates in the computers and electronics manufacturing sector, based in Brisbane, California. The company traces its origins to 1979, when Noel Lee founded it in a San Francisco area garage and created the Original Monster Cable to improve speaker performance. Over its first decades it focused on cables, then broadened into power, headphones, speakers, lighting, mobile, and gaming to extend its product range. Monster holds hundreds of patents and trademarks and is associated with Beats By Dr Dre, reflecting a history of product development across many categories. It has shifted toward a licensing model to bring more innovations to consumers, supporting licensees with strategy, design, engineering, sales, training, and marketing to deliver home entertainment, smart home, gaming, professional audio, mobile, and health and wellness solutions worldwide. A recent development includes launching the DNA One and DNA Max wireless charging speakers in 2023.
