Montgomery County Action Council (MCAC) is the economic development agency for Montgomery County, KS. In addition to financial support from Montgomery County and the cities of Caney, Cherryvale, Coffeyville and Independence, membership includes local businesses as well as individuals interested in working toward  

MCAC collaborates frequently with local, regional, and state partners to foster a comprehensive and innovative approach to economic development.

MCAC's mission is to create and retain jobs, increase the tax base, promote economic diversity, and enhance the quality of life for all citizens.

Montgomery County is a vibrant manufacturing center in Southeast Kansas. CVR Energy, Textron Aviation/Cessna, John Deere Coffeyville Works and Standard Motor Products are just a few of the many successful companies located here. With a population of approximately 34,000 and a one-hour commute population of more 345,000, Montgomery County ranked 4th in the state for manufacturing output at $6.1 billion in 2012.
