At Moonshot, we are passionate about making composting accessible and attainable for every business and person in the Houston community.

Moonshot is a community-driven business that collects and consolidates food waste for composting from local businesses, residents, offices, and restaurants.

Our mission is to help others think of excess food not as trash, but as a valuable resource with nutrients to be returned to the soil. We hope that together, we can dedicate compost to its highest and best use, to see benefits such as reduced waste, improved soil health, reduced stormwater runoff, numerous benefits for the climate, and job creation and support for local economies.  

We provide composting services to businesses and restaurants by developing a tailored process to fit each unique business so valuable excess food can be returned to the earth as compost. We also collect compost from single-family homes, apartment complexes, and events.

We make composting easy and effortless, collecting your compost bin on set pick-up days and exchanging it for a clean container. 

We take all of our collected and consolidated excess food and organic materials to New Earth in Katy, and the compostables we collect will never end up at a landfill. 

It really is that easy — simply fill your bucket with compost and Moonshot will handle the rest!
