Morgan State University is Maryland’s preeminent public urban research university and the only university to be designated a National Treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Founded in 1867, the Baltimore-based Historically Black College & University (HBCU) has awarded more than 51,000 degrees during the past 152 years. A Carnegie-classified doctoral research institution, Morgan offers more than 125 academic programs leading to degrees from the baccalaureate to the doctorate. Morgan serves a multiethnic and multiracial student body and seeks to ensure that the doors of higher education are opened as wide as possible to as many as possible.
