The Morris Museum is a longstanding cultural institution founded in 1913 and located in Morristown, New Jersey. It combines exhibitions and performances to interpret the past and explore future possibilities through art, sound, and motion. The museum houses the internationally significant Murtogh D. Guinness Collection of Mechanical Musical Instruments and Automata, and its Bickford Theatre offers a 312-seat venue for film, jazz, and live performances as part of its Live Arts programming, while it is recognized as New Jersey’s only Smithsonian Affiliate Museum. The organization also runs Spark!Lab, a Smithsonian-created space designed to inspire young visitors to create, collaborate, and innovate, and participates in community access initiatives such as the Blue Star Museum program offering free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families during summer.
