Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium is an independent nonprofit research organization based in Sarasota, Florida, founded in 1955. It conducts research aimed at conserving marine biodiversity, sustaining healthy habitats, and managing natural resources. The organization maintains field stations in eastern Sarasota County and the Florida Keys.
