The Mount Vernon Public Library is the Central Library for Westchester County. It has special collections for the Mills Law Collection, Multicultural Reference, Local History, Literacy Center, Government Documents, Foreign Language, and Job Information Center. There is a separate cybercorner with computers and a computer lab. The library maintains a separate Reference department and Periodicals department. The Mount Vernon Public Library provides programming for adults, teens, and children. We also support a Rotunda Art Gallery. We also have extensive databases for both online learning and online research. The library is supported by the Friends of the Mount Vernon Public Library and the Mount Vernon Public Library Foundation.
