Mountain Empire Community College is a two-year higher education institution serving residents of Lee, Scott, Wise, and Dickenson counties, as well as the City of Norton. It is part of the Virginia Community College System, one of 23 member colleges in the network. The college is based in Big Stone Gap, Southwest Virginia.
