Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center (MCVSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to serving veterans, service members, and their families with integrated, wraparound care. Founded in 2016 by philanthropist and business leader Jay Cimino, Mt. Carmel was created to provide meaningful, culturally competent support to the military-connected community. Since opening, we’ve served over 38,000 clients across Southern Colorado, helping individuals and families transition successfully, access vital resources, and build stronger futures. With headquarters in Colorado Springs and offices in Pueblo, Alamosa, and Trinidad, Mt. Carmel supports both urban and rural communities through a wide range of services: Transition & Employment: We connect service members, veterans, and military spouses to meaningful careers through coaching, workshops, and employer partnerships, leading to more than 5,000 job placements. Behavioral Health & Wellness: We offer accessible, confidential counseling, groups, retreats, and whole-health activities like trauma-focused yoga and tai chi. Services are available to veterans of all eras and discharge statuses, supported by trusted behavioral health partners. Military, Veteran, & Family Services (MVFS): We help families stabilize during crisis with case management, housing navigation, food pantry access, and financial support. At Freedom Springs, our supportive housing program, we offer case management services to all 50 veterans. Collaboration is core to our mission. Mt. Carmel partners with over 400 organizations and co-leads initiatives like Next Chapter, uniting healthcare providers, nonprofits, and advocates to reduce veteran suicide and expand access to behavioral health. Our mission: To serve our military, veterans, and their families through accessible programs, integrated resources, and collaborative partnerships that empower lives and strengthen our community.
