Mud Australia is a design-focused ceramics studio based in Sydney, New South Wales, founded in 1994. It offers a handmade porcelain range designed by Shelley Simpson that blends craft, color, clean lines, and functional form. All pieces are crafted by in-house ceramicists in its Sydney factory, with the collection evolving seasonally to introduce new shapes and colours. The company emphasizes relationships with customers and communities that value durable porcelain wares and an artisanal approach. In 2025, Mud Australia partnered with Craft Victoria to present the Shelley Simpson Ceramics Prize, a national award for emerging Australian ceramic artists, and it has pursued sustainability initiatives such as a zero waste terrazzo trivet collection and a recycled clay collection.
