Music for Minors (MFM) is a Bay Area nonprofit with nearly 50 years of experience delivering high-quality music education to elementary students. Our mission is to nurture in children a lifelong love of music—empowering creativity, confidence, and academic growth through engaging, standards-based instruction. Each year, we serve more than 20,000 students across 700 classrooms from preschool through sixth grade. Our diverse and inclusive curriculum includes singing, movement, instrument playing, music theory, and cultural exploration. Lessons are aligned with California and national music standards and are designed to be participatory, age-appropriate, and adaptable to a variety of classroom settings. MFM music teachers are trained musicians and educators who bring expertise in both music education and classroom management. Nearly half of our programs serve under-resourced schools, where MFM is often the only source of music instruction. With the support of strong school partnerships and generous donors, we ensure every child has access to the transformative power of music.
