Muslim Community Network is a New York City-based nonprofit focused on civic education and leadership development to broaden the understanding of what it means to be Muslim in the United States. It pursues this aim by building relationships with other faith-based communities, advocating for citizen engagement, and strengthening the ability of its community to influence change, while also supporting the development of the next generation’s leadership. The organization operates programs in Leadership Development, Civic Education, and Cross-Cultural Education. Operating with a small team, MCN serves New York’s diverse Muslim communities and engages broader audiences in the region. Its guiding principles reflect a social justice framework and commitments to inclusion, mutual consultation, self-determination, empowerment, partnership, and creating connections. In 2020, the organization launched a Summer Youth Social Justice Book Club as part of its youth-focused initiatives.
