Neubauer founded READ Global, which for two decades has been building community libraries and resource centers in rural villages in Nepal, India, and Bhutan. In 2008, The READ Nepal program won the 2006 Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's Access to Learning Award. Myths and Mountains has received many awards including Travel & Leisure's Global Vision Award (2010) and The Active Times' Best Adventure Travel Award.
